May 17th is the International Day Against Homophobia & Transphobia (IDAHOT) which is commemorated in over 100 countries around the world, activists, community leaders and the LGBTI communities in these countries organize a rally, public campaign, petition, work shop, art exhibition, press release and other sort of community events to highlight the danger of homophobia and transphobia and get attention of their respective government and the international human rights community to their cause. The Ethiopian LGBTI communities in Addis Ababa and Washington DC are organizing themselves to commemorate the day by Panel discussion, signing a petition, press release and other campaigns for the first time in the community history
